IMD issues weather alert

The India Meteorological Department on Sunday predicted heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms in several parts of the North Eastern states.
Heavy rainfall spell accompanied with isolated thunderstorms/lightning very likely over some parts of Northeast India during April 29-May 1, the Met department said in its weather update.
IMD said that fairly widespread rainfall was likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya on May 1-2 and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura between April 29-May 2.
It said that isolated heavy rainfall was predicted over Arunachal Pradesh & Assam and Meghalaya during April 29-30 and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on May 1.
IMD further said isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall was predicted over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya on May 1-2 and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on May 2.
