DIMAPUR, JUL 22 (NPN): India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre, Kohima, has forecast widespread rainfall activity across in several parts of the state during July 23-24, under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam and its neighbourhood.
According to IMD, the upper air cyclonic circulation, which earlier lay over north Assam and adjoining areas, now persists over northeast Assam and its neighbourhood.
Under its influence, isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over parts of Nagaland.
For July 23, the IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall (12-20 cm in 24 hours) over Mokokchung district.
It has also predicted heavy rainfall (7-11 cm in 24 hours) over Phek, Wokha, Kiphire, Tuensang, and Longleng districts.
IMD also stated that active monsoon conditions were likely over northeast region during next three-four days.
