IMD predicts more rain in North East

DIMAPUR, MAR 24

Due to consecutive two Western Disturbances, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall are likely over North East region during the week, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast.
According to IMD, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning gusty winds speed reaching (30-50 kmph) was likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya on March 25, 27 & 28; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on March 25 & 28.
The Met department has predicted isolated heavy rainfall over Assam & Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh on March 27 & 28 and Nagaland on March 28.
IMD said there could be localized landslides, flooding of roads and water logging in low lying areas.
