Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung, received the Kayakalp Award 2016-2017 by topping the list in the category of district hospitals for ‘Clean Hospital’ while Phek District Hospital bagged the second position.
IMDH received a cash award of Rs. 30 lakhs along with citation, followed by Phek District Hospital. The awards were handed out by minister for Health & Family Welfare, P Longon in Kohima on Thursday during the launching of Health schemes.
Kayakalp is a clean hospital initiative under Swachh Bharat where awards are given to the public health units in the State based on assessment indicators given by the Government of India. In 2015-2016 the Award was given to Mon District Hospital, while IMDH Mokokchung received a Commendation certificate.
