37 Assam Rifles, while conducting checking and frisking of vehicles between Lal Mati area and 10th Mile road Kohima, seized assorted IMFL from a Maruti Alto (AS-03B-4567).
In a press note, SDPO and PRO, Kohima Police informed that one person identified as Phuto Achumi (23) son of Huvikhu village of Lutsumi, Aghunato along with the seized IMFL were handed over to Sechü (Zubza) police station and a case registered against him..
In another incident, a dumper truck which was reportedly stolen from Secretariat road on June 24 by some unknown miscreants was intercepted by a patrolling party of DEF Kohima near NST complex.
In this connection, SDPO and PRO, Kohima Police said two persons identified as Hrüpu Poumai (18) son of Ngaonie Poumai and N. Ningtho Poumai (18) son of Chorou Poumai both from Tadubi, Senapati, Manipur, and presently residing at High School Colony, Kohima were taken into police custody and a case has been registered against them vide Kohima North police station.
