Troops of 9 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) launched an operation in Apple Garden, near Pfutsero, Phek district on July 21. During the search, troops of Assam Rifles recovered 240 bottles of Mcdowell Rum, 105 bottles of Mcdowell Whiskey, 96 bottles of Officers Blue Whisky and 96 cans of Kingfisher beer from a Maruti Omni Van Registration No NL 07 7271. The Indian Made Foreign Liquor amounted to Rs. 1,26,480/-. Two persons were apprehended from the vehicle. identified as Aviho age 25 years, son of Bemol and Rechu Rfther, age 31 years, wife of late Lisiru, both residents of Meluri, Phek district. The apprehendees along with recovered liquor and vehicle were handed over to Pfutsero police station for further investigation.
