IMI launched in Tsg, Wka and Zbto

Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) was launched across the state on October 9 to safeguard and prevent many preventable diseases for a healthy future. 
Tuensang: Tuensang district launched IMI at Urban Health Centre (UHC), with deputy commissioner Tuensang Jamithung Lotha, administering the first drop of IMI in the presence of chief medical officer (CMO) Dr. T. Pangjung Sangtam, deputy CMO Dr. Temsu Longchar, partners from UNDP Egumsing Nsarangbe, Awala and other medical staff. Altogether eight blocks and health units would work to achieve 90 percent of immunisation coverage by December 2018.
Wokha: IMI was launched at Wokha at 11 colonies in Wokha urban areas, 6 villages in Sanis block, and 12 villages in Bhandari block. UNICEF consultant, Pairson visited session sites at urban areas on first day along with CDPO social welfare department Wokha, Soren, deputy CMO Dr. Tumchobeni, DPM (NHM) Matsung, BPM (Wokha Sadar) Viroko Thapo and media officer (NHM), Mhonbeni Ezung. Health personnel with support from the Anganwadi workers and helpers would be carrying out house to house visits. IMI activity would be conducted from 9 to 16 every month and would continue for 4 months till January, 2018.
Zunheboto: In Zunheboto IMI was launched IMI by ADC, Vekhoyi Chakhesang. Dr. Wabang Aier, DPO (RCH &UIP) said through this programme, government of India aims to reach each and every child less than two years of age and all those pregnant women who have been left uncovered under the routine immunisation programme. He also said that greater focus would be given on urban area and other pockets of low immunization coverage.  He also emphasised that IMI would be closely monitored at the district, state and central level at regular intervals. The inagural programme was launched in the presence of Khrodi Rhetso, SP, Zunheboto, Dr. G. Hokishe Sema, CMO, Zunheboto, Avikali, state cordinator, RRC-NE, SDO, EAC, GB’s, STH and medical staff.
