Delivering key note address, Vihuto Achumi, Assistant Professor, Department of History, emphasised the importance of preserving cultural identity, particularly in the context of Naga culture and history.

According to Vihuto, folk tales and folklore served as vital sources of historical knowledge, transmitting collective memory, values, and wisdom across generations.

He also addressed the adverse impact of modernity and globalization, warning of the growing culture shock faced by indigenous communities, and urged the students to see heritage not as a burden, but as a precious gift—that must be consciously preserved and passed on. The event featured a vibrant showcase of indigenous heritage, including, folk song and dance.
