Immanuel Theological College and Seminary (ITC&S) conducted its 4th Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday at its Chapel Hall under the theme “Transformed to Transform” (Romans 12:2).
A total of 21 students graduated, including seven from the Bachelor of Theology, nine from the Master of Divinity, and five from the Master of Theology programmes. Awards were presented for academic excellence, preaching and ministry contributions.
Delivering the keynote address, Governing Council Member of NECU, Rev. Taku Longkumer, emphasized that theological education must be rooted in commitment and action rather than mere qualification. He reminded graduates that their calling to serve is grounded in a personal commitment to God, which should guide their ministry beyond graduation.
He highlighted that true service involves sacrifice, self-denial and obedience, stating that “loving God is not just a feeling but an action.” Encouraging the graduates to avoid shortcuts, he urged them to embrace hard work and remain faithful in their calling.
Rev. Longkumer also stressed the importance of continuous learning and living a life of value rather than pursuing success alone. He concluded by reminding the graduates that their degrees are not just credentials for employment but a “ticket to serve.”
The ceremony was led by assistant professor Ninetoli K. Kiba and included addresses, scripture reading and the conferring of degrees by Academic Dean Toshi Aier and Principal Lawrence Yanthan. A commissioning prayer was offered by Board Chairman Maong Lemtur.
The event concluded with the hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and a closing prayer.
