Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, emphasised on inclusivity, national unity, and the transformative journey of India towards becoming a developed nation at the 8th Chhatra Sansad India Conclave, organized in collaboration between Chhatra Sansad India (CSI) and Lovely Professional University (LPU), Punjab.
In his speech, Along expressed his admiration for LPU’s diverse student community, particularly highlighting the presence of over 3,000 students from the Northeast.
He said this reflects the university’s stellar reputation and India’s growing inclusivity. “I was surprised and delighted to see that more than 3,000 students from the Northeast are studying here at LPU.
This speaks volumes about the university’s reputation and the welcoming environment it fosters. It is heartening to see how people from the Northeast, who earlier hesitated to step out, are now traveling far from their hometowns to pursue education. This, in itself, is a testament to the vision of Viksit Bharat,” he remarked.
He emphasized that true development was not merely about infrastructure but about change in mindset and inclusivity. “A nation is not built by mere buildings and roads but by evolving thought processes and unity in diversity. We may have different foods, cultures, and appearances, but at heart, we are all Indians. It is this unity that will drive us towards becoming a developed nation,” he said.
The conclave featured illustrious lineup of dignitaries who engaged with the youth, sharing insights on leadership, innovation, and national progress. The guests included Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, Indian actor, Vikrant Massey, Member of Parliament and former Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Thakur, Member of Parliament, Imran Pratapgarhi, Editor-in-Chief of CNN News18, Rahul Shivshankar, former Union Minister, Suresh Prabhu, Indian Educationist, Khan Sir, motivational speaker and spiritual leader, Jaya Kishori, and Commanding Officer, Vajra Corps, Lt.
