IMPCC holds monthly meet

The monthly Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting was held at the All India Radio Station, Kohima, on January 29 chaired by IMPCC chairman and Director (E) AIR, Kohima, KK Rengma, to discuss the publicity activities carried out during the month.
During the month, publicity was given by all the media units on issues relating social and development programmes and on all centrally sponsored flagship programmes. Both AIR and DDK intensively covered schemes launched by the central government and successfully transmitted the Prime Minister’s Maan Ki Baat broadcast for the last four editions.
On account of the upcoming World Cancer Day observation on February 4, the house decided to focus its coverage on cancer awareness campaign. Going by the research reports, it said the key factors that can increase a person’s risk of developing cancer are due to behavioral and dietary risks, and not having an active lifestyle.
On the occasion, IMPCC has decided to cover relevant programmes for telecast and broadcast on the theme “Make healthy food choices, avoid cancer.”
Officials from Doordarshan Kendar Kohima, Department of Field Publicity and from All India Radio Kohima attended the meeting. The next monthly IMPCC meeting would be held at DDK Kohima on February 26.
