Implementation of JJM in Tsg discussed

Members of District Water and Sanitation Mission (DW&SM) held a meeting on February 5 in Tuensang on the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). 

The meeting was chaired by DC and DWSM chairman Kumar Ramnikant.

The objective of JJM was to enable all the rural households to have access to safe and adequate drinking water within the premises to the extent possible. 

According to DIPR, for verification of the implementation of the project a third party has been empanelled and for Tuensang district, TolenThangjam has been nominated. 

JJM is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connection by 2024 to all household in rural India.

PHED executive engineer, Er. Kedolhuto highlighted on the records of the department for 2019 – 20, and stated that out of the seven JJM projects in seven inhabitants, three projects have been completed and the remaining four almost completed (only verification left). 

He also highlighted on the compulsory implementation of water connection to the PHCs/CHCs, Schools and anganwadi centers in the village under the scheme. The importance of inclusion of medical department in the committee to check the quality of drinking water was also enlightened. 

DWSM chairman Kumar Ramnikant also urged the members to give cooperation so that the JJM scheme will be successfully implemented in the district.
