Bhangra dance by 78th Bn CRPF, Khukri Dance by 11th Assam Rifles and cultural dance by 5 different cultural Naga troupes and the musical presentation by Nagaland Adolescent Girls Club have marked the 66th Indian Republic Day celebration at Nagaland Secretariat Plaza, Kohima, on January 26 where the State Governor, PB Acharya, unfurled the National Flag and took salute from the 17 parade contingents.
Besides Bhangra dance, Khukri dance and cultural dances by 5 different Naga cultural troupes, the performance by Epicon, dance group from Peren district, titled “The rise of new era”- a dance depicting oneness and unity and diversity through
“Vande maataram” and presentation by the Indian Air Force have greatly impressed the congregation.
The Directorate of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement has organised showering of confetti by the Indian Air Force as a mark of respect on the occasion of Republic Day 2015 at the Nagaland Secretariat Plaza, Kohima.
The MI-17 helicopter was from 110 Helicopter Unit (Vanguards) with Squadron Leader, Irfan WK Jarial as Captain, Co Pilot Flying Officer, PS Uppal, Flight Engineer Flight Lieutenant, Sidhaart, Flight Gunner Surgeon Subodh and Liaison Officer, Flight Lieutenant P Tomar.
