Inclusive education for heads of schools

An online training session on “School Leadership for Inclusive Education” was conducted for heads of institutions registered under NBSE on October 10. The program delved into the intricacies of inclusive education, emphasizing its importance from a school leader’s standpoint.

The training session was orchestrated by two non-profit organizations: Ummeed Child Development Centre, known for its commendable work with children with disabilities, and Keystone Education Society, which focuses on fostering inclusion in schools by supporting students with learning disabilities.

During the training, experts highlighted key aspects of inclusivity, imparting essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes for heads of institutions. The challenges schools often encounter in implementing inclusive practices were also discussed.

With a turnout of 407 leaders, the session concluded on a promising note, echoing a unified call to action for greater inclusivity in education. Inclusive education, as outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, champions the idea of appreciating the diversity among learners, ensuring every individual, irrespective of background or ability, gets an equal chance in the educational sphere.
