1 gets 3 years RI for rape

Special judge POCSO Kohima has sentenced a man to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl in 2021. The accused was arrested in connection with alleged sexual assault on a minor female on June 3, 2021 at Naga Hospital Colony Kohima while the victim minor girl was at home with her grandfather.


While pronouncing the judgment in the open court, special judge POCSO, Duvelu Vero, stated that the prosecution proved all the charges U/S 354-A/IPC R/W Sec. 8 POCSO against the accused identified as one Dilwar Hussain beyond all reasonable doubt.
In a press note, special PP in-charge of the case T Marlemba informed that the complaint was lodged with the women Police station Kohima against the accused by secretary of Naga Hospital colony council. Based on the complaint, the case was investigated by ASI M. Sachumlo Kikon.
