The “11th Nagaland Canaan farmers school training” jointly organised by the Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM), Impur and C-Edge College in collaboration with Life Ministry Learning Centre (LMLC) which began on March 8 culminated on March 10 at LMLC, Naga United Village.
A press release by C-Edge College informed that the trainers were DPO, Land Resources department (Mokokchung), Dr. Sashiyangba and DABA pastor Rev. I Wati Jamir, while resource persons from ABAM were executive secretary, Rev. Dr Mar Pongener, PS to executive secretary, Panger Ozukum, Sunday School promoter, Imsentiba, coordinator social concern, Limasangwa and member NCFS committee, Meralong Langu.
During the training, former Executive Secretary ABAM, Rev. O Alem spoke on the history and relevance of Canaan Farmers School, credited with bringing the program to Nagaland from South Korea.
The release informed that the training seeks to inculcate the Canaan Spirit of pioneering spirit and hard work for community transformation.
It said the ideology of CFS was, “Work, Service, Sacrifice” and the motto was, “Learn to Master, Work Diligently, Humbly Serve.” Based on which, the people are called to be pioneers with the clear dream of always achieving a better life.
The release stated that Nagaland Canaan Farmers School under the ABAM believes that the Nagas today need such a spirit to enable them to eradicate poverty and attain economic prosperity.
During the training, trainees were introduced to stringent discipline and understanding of the Canaan Spirit.
Participants were students and staff from C-Edge College, staff of LMLC, farm manager of ABAM Resource Centre and two representatives from Naga United Ao Baptist Church.
