11th Lotha Football C’ship kicks off

The 11th edition of the Lotha Football Championship (LFC) 2022, organised by Wokha District Football Association (WDFA), got underway at local ground Wokha town on January 28, 2022 with Lotha Hoho (LH) chairman Er. Mhondamo Ovung gracing the opening ceremony as special guest.
Speaking at the opening programme, LH chairman Er. Mhondamo Ovung congratulated WDFA for organising such tournament and creating platform for the youngsters to expose their talents.
He called upon the players to be discipline, hardworking and dedicated so they could achieve their goals in life. LH chairman encouraged them to take up sports as a profession and not just as a leisure- pursuit.
Further, he encouraged the players to exhibit their talents in the true spirit of the game.
In the opening match of the tournament, XI Brothers defeated Old Aree Sporting Club by a solitary goal which came from the boots of Along in the 32nd minute. In the second match, Lower “E” Khel defeated Longsa Sports Association by 3-1.
