With an aim to provide a platform to the Naga youths to promote their creativity and skills, the sixth edition of August rush under the theme “Where creativity meets skills”, an annual day of mega fun events organized by Richa production is set to be held on August 15 at The Heritage in Kohima from 10:00 am onwards with an entry fee of Rs 100/-.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Symphony Café, event director, Dr. Teputo Richa informed that the main objective of the event was to provide a platform to talented Naga artists and entrepreneurs to display their products and talents, in the form of art, painting, dancing etc.
The main attraction of this year’s edition will be the introduction of the first ever “Umbrella Festival”, which will be the first ever event to be held in Northeast, with a motive to showcase, paint, draw or decorate one’s umbrella based on their personal theme or a cause that they support.
With the idea that an umbrella is an eminent asset carried by every citizen of the state, henceforth, the celebration of umbrella will be carried out along the design or illustration and a winner will be declared based on creativity. Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), president, Kegwayhun Tep will be gracing the occasion of the umbrella festival.
A stop-stopping fashion show will also be on display catching fashion fiesta show by Amini designs, presenting her collections and is the official designer for the “best of august rush”, while a musical recital will be hosted by Rhapsody, Musicians’ Studio Kohima.
Auditions for “The Best of August Rush’ – Solo singing competition was held on July 15 and 5 finalists were selected who would be performing at the grand finale.
It will also feature competition for fittest man and woman, comedy night, EDM, musical recital and fashion show giving opportunities to independent artists who would be performing on August 15.
