The 1st U-20 Revenant Football Running Trophy organised by Moanunsang Memorial Sporting Club, under the aegis of Revenant FC, Mokokchung, got underway, on Monday at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung with assistant director of Food & Civil Supply, Jamonger, as the guest of honour.
Speaking at the programme, Jamonger lauded the organisers for trying the promote young talents and for keeping passion of football alive. He also encouraged the young talents to participate with a balanced discipline between sport and education. Jamonger further added that one should put his heart and soul into the passion one loves with a respect to others.
Earlier, a short speech was delivered by Dr. Lanu Walling while the invocation was offered by Aongsen and the programme was chaired by Zulumanen, who also administered the oath to the 16 participating teams.
It may be mentioned that that the tournament is being conducted without any entry fee charges but the winners will be accorded due trophy, cash awards and certificates along with individual prizes.
