2-day Nagaland Prayer festival commences at Agri Expo

Staff Reporter

The two-day ‘Nagaland Prayer Festival’ hosted by Chenna-based Jesus Calls ministry and co-hosted by Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) commenced on Saturday, 4 pm at the Agri Expo in Chümoukedima.
In his message, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran said the Dhinakaran family did not come to Nagaland to tell them what to do but to ask them (congregation) to listen to the call of Jesus for deliverance and come to Him with all their burdens and brokenness.
Dr. Dhinakaran spoke from the gospel of Matthew chapter 15 where Jesus was moved with compassion when He saw that the multitude that had gathered to hear him were sick, lonely and without hope.
Dr. Dhinakaran also pronounced a special prayer for Nagaland, the forthcoming election next month, absolute unity in the government, and for “all projects to come through.” He said people also need to pray for their rulers so that they can live in peace.
Earlier, chief minister Neiphiu Rio in his address, made an appeal to the gathering to pray for a peaceful and free and fair election, slated to be held on February 27, to pray for one another, and submit to the will and purpose of God.
The inaugural session on Saturday was attended by wife of Paul Dhinakaran, Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran; his children- Samuel Dhinakaran and Stella Ramola. Those present included chief minister’s wife Kaisa Rio; Azheto Zhimomi, MLA and other prominent church leaders.
The prayer festival will culminate on January 29.
