CBS in all SBI branches

With the latest migration of the State Bank of India (SBI) Phek Branch to core banking system (CBS) on Thursday, SBI Nagaland Module has added a feather to its cap by making Nagaland the first state in the North-East to have one hundred percent CBS in all 45 SBI branches in the state.
Even an SBI customer from an interior place like Noklak under Tuensang district with no telephone facility and irregular power supply can avail CBS facility through the V set and generators arranged by the bank.
Announcing the CBS facility in all SBI branches in the State here at a press briefing, SBI Dimapur officials said the main objective of CBS was transformation of banking in every sphere of activity, by adding value and creating significant competitive advantage to enhance customer experience.
Assistant general manager, SBI Regional office Dimapur, SC Sen said the benefits of the CBS include 24-hour banking seven days a week anytime and anywhere, cost reduction in transactions, multiple access channels and a single view of all accounts. 
Sales Manager, SBI Regional office Dimapur, David Kire said the Nagaland Module had been able to achieve total CBS in the State using its own resources and manpower.
Manager (ROCC) SBI Dimapur, Jyotish Deb said the process for migration of all SBI branches in the state to CBS started in 2005 with Kohima Bazar branch becoming the first branch to have CBS facility on July 2, 2005.
Other bank officials who attended the press briefing included chief managers SH Leo and LB Pradhan, branch managers RK Dutta and HN Phuskar and DGS, SBI Staff Association, Lolly Moses.
Meanwhile, the bank officials also informed that SBI would be shortly opening two new branches at Golaghat Road and Old Daily Market in Dimapur.
