Imchen reacts to allegations

Home minister Imkong L. Imchen has said the various allegations leveled against him by the GPRN/NSCN (K) including spearheading of the Mokokchung incident in 2003 and masterminding the assassination plan of NSCN (K) kilonser late Ngampan Kilonser in 2006, were all “false and far away from the truth.”
Expressing shock over the allegations, the Home minister in a press statement said he wished that the ‘NSCN/GPRN’ did not hurl such allegations against him anymore but look forward to work together for a better Nagaland.
On the ‘NSCN/GPRN’ statement that Imchen had claimed responsibility for assassination of late Ngampan Kilonser, Imchen said “there is something which is putting words in my mouth with ulterior motive, which is very unbecoming of the organization to throw blame on me, which I never know.”
The minister also said he had earlier clarified to the ‘NSCN/GPRN’s’ allegation that he was responsible for spending Rs 71 lakh for Manipuri students and affiliated Hill Schools of Manipur without people’s consent.
Imchen further said there was no question of helping or crushing the NSCN/GPRN (Unification) from his side.
The minister also said pinning of responsibilities on individual administrative and police officers for performing their duties, was something uncalled for.
“Whatever the functions and duties perform by those officers are for the public service and collective decision of the government. It is much better if the Nagas look at the policy perspective than on individual motivation. I hope that this clarification will set good for all concern,” he added.
