Pusa’s poll bugle call to Cong

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president KV Pusa has called upon all the Congress party workers to gear up for the forth coming Lok Sabha election.
Addressing the PCC joint meeting on Saturday at Congress Bhavan, Pusa exuded confidence that the party would bag the lone seat in the State and also come to power at the Centre.
Assuring the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) that the PCC officials were fully behind them, he also reminded the party workers to live up to the expectation and ideals of the founders of the Congress party.
On the Naga political issue, he said “We (Congress) are firmly committed to finding a final political solution for the people of Nagaland. The party continues to stand on our solid resolve to take every section of our people into confidence in arriving at any final political settlement of the Naga political issue.”
He however regretted that the Naga political struggle was presently reduced to “factionalism.”
Condemning the atrocities perpetuated on the Christian community in Orissa and other states by VHP and Bajrang Dal activists, Pusa said “any group, whether political or otherwise that acts against the principles of secularism and the concept of unity in diversity attacks the very fundamental elements of the Constitution of the country.”
He also congratulated Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi for clinching the historic nuclear deal with USA.
Recalling the imposition of President’s Rule in Nagaland earlier this year, he said the Gauhati High Court’s judgment had “indicted” the Nagaland Assembly Speaker.
CLP leader Chingwang Konyak called upon the party workers to take advantage of the RTI Act in exposing the misdeeds of the government. Congress leader I. Imkong and former chief minister KL Chishi also exhorted the party workers.
