Tribal Spirit in NSF Martyrs’ trophy semis

Tribal Sprit became the second team to reach the semi-final at the ongoing 9th NSF Martyrs Memorial trophy organized by the Angami Students Union (ASU).
Tribal Spirit defeated New Market XI 4-0 in the second first quarter final on Saturday.
Dominating the match, Tribal Sprit fired the first salvo in the 11th minute from the header goal of Anand Kabui and eleven minutes later L. Bopiu made it 2-0 through a spot kick conversion. Kezevituo and Stephen Rutsa, both of New Market XI were awarded “yellow cards in the 11th and 22nd minutes by referee.
In the second half Tribal Sprit again grounded home two goals in the 64th and 68th minutes from L. Bopiu and Umakanta respectively taking the goal tally to 4-0.
Anand Kabui (Tribal Spirit) and Akho and Mhasielie both of New Market XI were awarded “yellow cards in the 40th minute, 60th minute and 88th minute respectively by referee.

Youth Resources and Sports Director, Beiu Angami was the match patron and also gave away the man of the match certificate and memento to Azo Zotso (New Market XI). The match patron also donated Rs. 10,000 to the organizers.
In the exhibition match was played between ASU Organizing committee and Kohima District Veteran Football Association (KDVFA) which ended with 2-2 draw. KDVFA led 2-0 till first half. The scores for KDVFA came in through Dr. Nicky Kire , MLA and Vipulhou, assistant director in the 15th and 19th minutes of the first half. ASU Organizing committee came back in the second and found the goal mark from the boots Kedozo, tournament announcer and Sedevikho, secretary publicity and information ASU in the 50th and 58th minutes.
Earlier, during the match, the ASU Organizing committee, KDVFA and the NSF also felicitated the under 14- Subroto cup football wining team members during the half time.
On account of Sunday (October 19) there will be no match.
