Search operations

Dimapur Police and IRB conducted search operations in various colonies and areas of Dimapur for the third consecutive day Saturday, to flush out underground activists from civilian populated areas. On Saturday, a combined force comprising more than one company of IRB personnel and fifty Dimapur police personnel, with Assam Rifles jawans providing peripheral security, conducted search operations in several colonies including Ao Kashiram, PWD, Residency, Viola, Oriental and Dillai Gate area, a senior police official told Nagaland Post. The search operations started around 6.30 a.m and lasted for around three hours. However, no arrest was made or arms recovered during the search operations, the police official said. Security forces also conducted search operations at Nagarjan and Phaipijan colonies on Friday. Earlier on Thursday, police and IRB personnel rushed to Nagarjan-Phaipijan junction after receiving reports that some armed miscreants were forcibly collecting money in the area. However, on seeing the security personnel, the miscreant fled from the scene.
