CSA tourney
Dimapur, Oct 22 (NPN): Chumukedima Town will take on Medziphema Town in the final of the Chakhroma Sports Association (CSA) tournament on Thursday at 1 pm. In their way to final Chumukedima blanked Khanakhüru 3-0, in the tie breaker, after teams remained goalless in the regulated time while Medziphema drubbed Chatouphe 4-0. According to CSA president, the closing ceremony will be graced by Dr. Kevingulie Khro, MS District Hospital, Phek. Meanwhile, in the volleyball (men) final match, Medziphema Town beat Sirhi Angami, 25-20, 17-25, 25-18, 26-25, while in the women final, Tsiepama defeated Tenyiphe-I, 25-15, 25-15, 26-24.
Rio fetes Sachin
Dimapur, Oct 22 (NPN): State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio has feted Sachin Tendulkar for becoming the highest run getter in test cricket and the first cricketer to cross 12,000 runs in cricket. “This achievement is a proud moment for the entire country especially the sports fraternity and will inspire youngsters to aim for higher goals. Your career and achievements have become a source of encouragement for sportsperson all over the world”, Rio in his congratulatory message said. Further, the chief minister on behalf of Nagaland Cricketer Association has wished Tendulkar a success in his future endeavors.
Mission T-20 challenge begins
Kohima, Oct 22 (NPN): Mission T-20 challenge organized by Missionshire Cricket Club began with a bang on Wednesday at KVSA ground. In the first match, Onyx Club Kohima defeated Officers Hill Cricket Club (OHCC) by 46 runs. Batting first Onyx Club scored 147 runs, with contribution from the blades of Wozangthung (51) and Along (35). The OHCC in reply were bowled out for 101. Both Wozangthung and Along walked away with Hit the board cash award for hitting the board once each. The first and second cash prizes has been sponsored by Khriehu Liezietsu and Avituo Sekhose, proprietors of KLAS enterprise.

JVYO football coaching camp concludes
Dimapur, Oct 22 (NPN): A week-long free “Football Coaching Camp” organized by the Jalukie Valley Youth Organization (JVYO) was concluded on Saturday last at Jalukie Town. The organization has lauded Roko Angami, Chief Coach Boys Club Kohima and his assistant, for their tireless efforts in imparting the modern techniques of football during the camp.
NDN memorial trophy
Dimapur, Oct 22 (NPN): The 15th NDN Memorial Football Trophy on the theme “sports for self discipline” will be held on November 1 to 6 at State Stadium. According to the organizer the inaugural function will be graced by DC, Dimapur, Maongwati as chief guest while Renben Jami, deputy director land resource director, Kohima will graced the closing ceremony.
Royal Club meet
Dimapur, Oct 22 (NPN): Royal Club, Kohima will hold its general meeting on October 24, at 4 pm at Royal Club building.
