DC Kohima notifies
KOHIMA: DC Kohima, Sachopra Vero has requested all Panchayat Chairmen, Colony GBs and KMC members to attend the one-day advocacy workshop on ‘Role of Panchayats and Community Response’ towards HIV/AIDS on October 24 from 10 am to 2 pm at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima.
Speaker, NLA, Kiyaneilie Peseyie, minister for Higher Education & Urban Development, Dr Shurhozelie and chairman, Khadi & Village Industry, MLA Dr. Nicky Kire will also be attending the programme. The workshop is an initiative of Legislators’ Forum for AIDS/UNAIDS and Kuknalim Foundation.
NU notifies exam schedule
DIMAPUR: Nagaland University, Lumami has notified the examination schedule for three year integrated degree BA/B.Com/ B.Sc/ part I and Part II (Honours and general) 2006 batch (Old course). Meanwhile, NU has also notified the examination schedule for PG Tenyidie second and fourth semester examination. Time for commencement of examination will be 10 am and time allotted will be as indicated in the question paper.
Army recruitment
DIMAPUR: Recruitment to Havildar Education in the Army Education groups ‘X’ & ‘Y’ organized by Army Recruiting Officer Rangapahar is to be conducted soon. Interested candidates are informed to contact nearest Army Recruiting Office Rangapahar- Telephone No. 0362256916. The last date for receipt of applications is October 31.
Speaker to grace
KOHIMA: Speaker NLA, Kiyanilie is to grace the inaugural function of the State Level Higher/High Schools tournament as the chief guest. The tournament is to be held from October 28 to 31 at Indira Gandhi stadium Kohima.
Don Bosco alumni
DIMAPUR: A general meeting of Don Bosco alumni Dimapur unit will be held at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur on October 24, 5pm. Alumni of any Don Bosco institute are also cordially invited to attend the meet along with two passport size photos.
NCRC (S) women
KOHIMA: NCRC (Sumi) women conference will be held from November 7-9 at Thilixu village, 3rd mile, Dimapur. A release by the women standing committee, NCRC Sumi, Kahuli Achumi stated K.L Chishi, former CM, Er. Hutoi Aye and Kakugha Jimo will grace the occasion as special guests. There will be a seminar on HIV/AIDS and women.
NLA workshop
KOHIMA: Nagaland Legislative Assembly secretary, A.E. Lotha has informed all members that a two day workshop on e-governance will be held on November 3 and 4 from 9:30 am at Zonal hall. The workshop is being organized by the Department of ITTE. All members have been requested to attend the said workshop.
NPA session
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Pensioner’s Association (NPA) annual general meeting will be held on November 11 and 12 at Town hall Zunheboto. Dr Nihoshe Yepthomi, parliamentary secretary, Industries and commerce will be the chief guest and Merio Tsanglao, deputy commissioner; Zunheboto will be the guest of honour respectively.
DIMAPUR: Ao Students Union Dimapur (ASUD) will hold ‘Excellency award programme’ on October 25, 11 am at Town hall, Dimapur. Dr Nangshi K Ao, minister PHED will be the chief guest.
MHS silver jubilee
KOHIMA: Mount Hermon School, Kohima, will celebrate its silver jubilee on November 7 at 10 am at its school campus. The jubilee function will be graced by Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, minister, as the chief guest.
SP Dimapur inform candidates
DIMAPUR: Candidates from Dimapur district appearing for recruitment test of constable (GD) in 14th NAP BN (IR) have been informed to report to NAPTC stadium, Chumukedima on October 23 at 7: 30 a.m. SP Dimapur has informed all candidates to submit their original documents and to be prepared for medical screening and outdoor test.
Inter-school music fest
DIMAPUR: Ace Event Management Agency (AEMA) will be organising inter-school music fest Nagaland ’08 on November 8 at IMC hall, Nuton Basti, Dimapur. Interested schools have been requested to collect the forms from Crescendo, Encore and Audio Garage. AEMA informed that the last date of form submission would be October 31.
Chaga Gadi general session
DIMAPUR: Liangmai Organisation Peren (LOP) Nagaland would be celebrating 12th Chaga Gadi -cum -3rd general session on October 30 and 31 with Peren superintendent of police, K. Elias as chief guest. All Liangmai community have been requested to attend the main function, failing which, LOP informed that action would be taken as per its resolution. LOP has requested all head of office and institutions to grant two days special casual leave to all Liangmai employees and students to grant restricted holiday as granted by state government to join the main function.
Search operations in Kohima
KOHIMA: Police and IRB personnel conducted search operations at New Ministers’ Hill Aradhura and High School colony on Wednesday. However, no arrest was made or arms recovered, police sources said.
TSUD general conference
DIMAPUR: Tenyimi Students Union Dimapur (TSUD) would be organizing its 3rd general conference -cum- freshers meet on October 28 at Dimapur Town Hall with Chotisuh Sazo, MLA Parliamentary Secretary, social welfare women and child development as chief guest and D.P Angami, deputy chairman, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) as guest of honour.
Union has informed all constituent units and sub-ordinate bodies to submit merit name list along with their attested photo copy of mark sheet and admit card of previous HSLC result to union office. Interested participants for extravaganza have been requested to submit their items on or before October 26. College representative for Mr and Miss Freshers 2008 have been requested to report at the union’s office on October 24 at 2 p.m for practice session.
