1 NSCN (K) activist killed

One NSCN (K) activist was killed in an attack by the rival NSCN (I-M) at Phaibijang village, near Power Grid colony, Dimapur, Saturday around 6 a.m. A combined force of police and IRB personnel, which rushed to the village on receipt of information about exchange of fire between the rival NSCN groups, recovered the bullet riddled body of the NSCN (K) activist identified as ‘Pvt’ Hopeto Tuccu, son of late Xukithe, of Kihovi village. According to police, about forty to fifty NSCN (I-M) activists had gone to the village to chase out the rival activists, and in the ensuing exchange of fire, the NSCN (K) activist was killed. Police recovered seven empty cases and two bullet heads of AK-47 from the spot. Police also recovered an abandoned Gypsy (NL-07-6897) from the area. Meanwhile, the deceased was handed over to family members.
