Houses gutted in 6th Mile area

At least seventeen houses were gutted when fire broke out at Teniphie-I, opposite Urban Station at around 8:30 p.m. Friday.
According to sources, fire was believed to have started in a kitchen in the absence of the inmates of the house and it quickly spread to the other adjoining houses. The late arrival of the Fire tenders caused resentment among the public. The fire was however brought under control by fire brigade personnel with the help of public, sources said.
There was no report of any casualty while estimates of property lost had not been ascertained at the time of filing this report.
