Id-ul-Zuha observed in Meghalaya

d-ul-Zuha was Tuesday celebrated throughout Meghalaya with religious fervour and gaiety.
Thousands of animals were sacrificed across the state. A congregational prayer was held here and Namaz were also offered at different mosques in the state, including plain belt of Garo Hills, Dawki, Nongpoh, and Ladrymbai.
Donning new clothes and skull caps, members of the Muslim community exchanged greetings and sweets while children wearing colourful clothes were seen visiting parks and lake after offering namaz to celebrate Id.
Several religious, social and political leaders have greeted people on the occasion. Conveying his best wishes to the Muslim community, Chief Minister Dr Donkupar Roy sought cooperation of all communities for maintenance of peace and brotherhood in the State.
