PC suggests third party monitoring

Planning Commission (PC) has suggested adopting the concept of third party monitoring as an innate part of the planning process, initiated by Arunachal Pradesh for successful implementation of various centre- sponsored schemes.
PC principal advisor Jayati Chandra, who is presently on a four-day tour to East Siang, Upper Siang and Lower Dibang Valley districts, accompanied by director S N Brahmo Choudhury, has expressed satisfaction over the progress and quality of implementation of various projects under the Prime Minister’s package, official sources said here today.
”The innovative component of the third party monitoring, which is being used for the first time in this part of the country, has proved its relevance,” she commented and suggested that such reforms be extended to all other schemes and windows of financing to bring more convergence, transparency and accountability.
