A power sub-station was closed down in Chandel district fearing action from suspected NSCN (IM) militants. Official sources today said cadres of NSCN (IM) demanded money from the employees of the power station and started threatening the employees. Suspected cadres of the outfit also came to the 33 KV sub-station at Chayang village in Chandel district and threatened the employees. The employees have fled from the power station resulting in stoppage of power supply in the district, sources added. It is not known when power supply will be resumed in the district as the employees have refused to go back. The NSCN (IM) had also recently stopped movement of all vehicles carrying cooking gas in the state demanding Rs 15 lakhs.
