Govt. employees flay CM

Joint Administrative Council (JAC) body of the striking employees of the Manipur government Tuesday criticized the chief minister for allegedly trying to create misgivings about the employees to the general public over their demands for recommendation of the sixth Pay Commission.
Meanwhile, normal office functioning in the Manipur Legislative Assembly were paralyzed Tuesday as the employees of its secretariat carried out a sit-in protest in the Assembly complex suspending all official business.
Speaking at the sit-in protest, general secretary of JAC, Chandramani criticized the state chief minister, O Ibobi Singh of “misinforming” the public on the demand of the employees while reacting to the statement given to the media with regard to the demand of the employees.
CM in a government function recently had said that government has no funds incur the additional expenditure and has to pay for it from the funds meant for developmental activities.”The statement of the CM was a lie as salaries of the employees are incurred from non-plan funds of the state account while the funds for development and other welfare activities of the people is from the plan head”, Chandramani said.
