DCCs slam Deo, Azheto

Phek District Congress Committee (PDCC) and Dimapur District Congress Committee astonished over the resignation of INC candidates including MLA Deo Nukhu of 17 Chizami A/C and MLA Azheto Zhimo of 3-Dimapur-III A/C, has slammed that their action has disgraced and betrayed DCCs and has deeply hurt Congress men and women.
PDCC president, Mikha Kenye in a statement said that on February 17 morning Deo had addressed 17 Chizami ACCC meeting at Chizami town, encouraging party workers that Congress led UPA would form government again at the centre but in the evening he had resigned.
PDCC statement while maintaining that on his “defection” he as lied to all, asserted, “We trusted his words because he is also a close to church.”
Dimapur DCC president, I Kilen Aier and general secretary (admn), Nyimathung Odyuo in a separate statement termed Azheto’s resignation as betrayal of congress men and women of the constituency and sale out of their mandate.
DCC leaders maintaining that NPCC allotted party ticket to him only after being pressurized by ACCC and DCC, said, “Such cheap act of resigning and extending support to NPF is a shame and expose your political immaturity to the Nagas.”
Meanwhile, another press release issued by ACCC Pughoboto has also condemned the resignation of former congress MLAs and said they have betrayed the voters.
ACCC has further appealed other Congress MLAs to be firm and work for party and public.
