Indian militants flee from B’desh camps: BSF

Four Manipur-based People’s Liberation Army (PLA) militants, including two women activists were arrested in Meghalaya’s Indo-Bangla border area of Beltoli, BSF said Friday.
A Bangladeshi national Khalif Miya who is the trans-border courier for PLA cadres was also arrested along with them. Three children of the arrested PLA activists were also detained.
The arrested militants, belonging to the 101 battalion of the proscribed PLA were identified ‘Captain’ Krishna Mohan Singh, ‘Sergeant Major’ Sushil alias Shanti, Lata Devi and Shyam Lata, BSF Spokesman Ravi Gandhi said.
Both Krishna and Sushil are based in Bangladesh’s Chittagong Hills Tract and looking after the Finance wing of the PLA.
All six mobile handsets with two Indian and one Bangladesh SIM cards and Rs 33, 160 were seized from their possession, the BSF spokesman said.
He said the PLA militants crossed-over to Meghalaya from Bangladesh with their three children mainly to divert the attention of the BSF troops.
Earlier, BSF had arrested more than five PLA cadres from Meghalaya’s Indo-Bangla border areas while attempting to cross the international border.
