Mon DPDB meet discusses LS polls, erratic power supply

Mon District Planning and Development Board meeting was held under the Chairmanship of vice chairman and deputy commissioner, Mon Dinesh Kumar IAS on Feb 17 at Lemon Grass Farm, Tuimei village.
In view of forth coming Lok Sabha Election, the chairman appriseed the heads of offices to submit the list of incumbents and vehicle to his office for necessary arrangement and further directed not to grant long leave till Election is over.
The DC also asked the heads of offices to appoint one Nodal Officer for Election purpose. Respective heads of offices and Nodal officer will be held responsible for failure or absent of the polling officer during the training.
He also directed the Medical Department to constitute Medical Board and directed them to issue medical certificate only in exceptional cases.
Regarding complaint against frequent and delay in replacement of transformer by the villagers to the Deputy Commissioner during his recent visit to some villages, the EE (Power) Mon, Er. Imti Ao replied that erratic power supply was due to line interruption between Mon and Naginimora and regular load shedding five to six times daily from Mokokchung, which is beyond his control.
Regarding replacement of transformer he said that the burned transformer is sent to Dimapur, which is also beyond his control. It is not expedited as expected due to fund constraint.
Regarding Officers Club of Mon, SDO Civil Mon Sadar, Hiazu Meru briefed the house about the constitution of the club, renovation of the building, ID card, registration and instrument and Sports goods purchased for the club.
He requested the members to submit passport photo for ID card along with registration fee of Rs.1000/- (One thousand) on or before the next meeting.
The chairman also informed the agri and allied departments to attend a meeting on February 24 at DC conference hall.
In order to check proxy teachers the DC asked DEO, Mon to direct all government schoola under Mon to put-up photographs of all teachers in the staff room. The Board also recommended construction of drawing hall cum Exam hall for the trainees submitted by the ITI Principal, Er. H. Alongse Sangtam in his departmental presentation
High lighting the activities of the ITI, Mon the Principal explained to the house about Skill Developmental Initiative (SDI) centrally sponsored scheme.
He briefed that the objectives of the scheme is to provide vocational training to School dropouts, existing workers, ITI graduates, etc to explore their employability by optimally utilizing the infrastructure available in govt. and private Institutions. DPO (Land Resource), Mon also highlighted and demonstrated on extraction of Lemon Grass to the members.
Forest Department and Co-operation were requested to present their departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting schedule on March 16.
