A state monitoring team of officials from Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW)Kohima, headed by National Health Mission mission director, Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru, visited Phek district on July 27.
A press release from Phek district media officer stated that the team visited District Hospital Phek and inspected the under construction buildings for a School of Nursing and District Hospital.
The state monitoring team also conducted a District Review Meeting at the CMO conference hall with the chief medical officer of Phek, Dr. Laso Lazar, Dr. Vethihulu, Dy. CMO, Block SMOs, MOs, DPOs and staff of the various vertical programs, lap-tech, Nagaland Health Project, counsellors and staff of the CMO establishment.
At the meeting, Dr. Kevichusa requested the health workers to be sincere and serious in their work and regular at their posting place. He added that non-performing and irregular staff would be viewed seriously.
He directed officials to club all vertical programs together and conduct block review meetings and monitor health units. He also directed the health workers to submit reports regularly.
He spoke on the importance of monitoring and supervision of health units so as to improve the performance status of the district.
Dr. Tiasunep SPO RNTCP also briefed the health workers asking them to be regular at their posting place and utilize the different facilities provided.
During a discussion hour, different district issues were discussed with the state officials. The mission director assured the staff that the issues would be put up to the state.
The program was chaired by Dr. Vethihulu, Dy. CMO. She also welcomed the state monitoring team and staff of Phek district. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Dr. Lanuakum DVBO Phek.
