Patton inaugurates biometric system at PHQ

 Deputy chief minister Y. Patton inaugurated Aadhaar Based Biometric system installed in the Police Head Quarters (PHQ) on July 27 in Kohima.

According to a press note sent by PHQ through DIPR, Patton mentioned issues related to maintenance of law and order which needed to be improved. He also stressed on investigation of pending high profile cases which, he said, should be concluded at the earliest and the monthly progress report should be submitted to the government.

The deputy chief minister also spoke about traffic management and traffic regulations. He expressed deep concern over the encroachment of police land by civilians and said that strict action should be initiated against these encroachers.

Patton also stated that cleanliness drives should be initiated in every Police station and reserve, as an effort towards making Nagaland a plastic free state.

Director General of Police, T. J Longkumer, exhorted the police personnel saying that that as Police officers, they enjoy privileges, so it was their duty to shoulder all responsibilities to provide “Security, Service and sacrifice” for the denizens of Nagaland. He cautioned all officers to not cross their limits of authority as Police Officers.

Home Commissioner Ramakrishnan, said that need of the hour was to be vigilant and pro-active in the matters of mob lynching and to keep on working for the welfare of the jawans. He also appreciated the dedication of the Police forces of the state.
