In view of rapid increase of COVID-19 positive cases at Pfutsero Town and as an urgent measure to break the cycle of possible community transmission, random testing of target groups would be held at Community Health Centre (CHC), Pfutsero from September 6-10 for persons who have not taken the vaccination.

According to a DIPR report, the target groups include: teachers; shopkeepers; pharmacists; taxi drivers (both regional & local taxi drivers); construction workers; truck drivers (plying to & fro Pfutsero-Dimapur); public leaders & colony leaders; church workers and government employees.

All concerned have been directed to extend full cooperation. Traders and drivers have also been requested to display COVID-19 negative test reports or status of vaccination on shops and vehicles.

Any person failing to produce valid COVID-19 test results during checking would be prosecuted as per the provision of Section 51 & 60 of the National Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under IPC Section 188.
