RNPC seeks support for Tseminyu distt

Rengma Naga People Council (RNPC) Karbi Anglong has appealed to people of Nagaland to support the Tseminyu district demand for inclusive and simultaneous progress of Rengmas along with rest of the tribes.

RNPC through its media cell stated that Tseminyu despite being the one of the oldest subdivisions in Nagaland remained “an aspiring candidate” for upgradation to a district since the inception of statehood. However, the council said that several “comparatively younger sub-divisions” have already been upgraded to full-fledged districts in recent years.

RNPC expressed hope that the state government would give a “serious consideration” to the recommendation of Kohima district planning and development board (DPDB) at the earliest for a justified response to the decades old demand of the Rengmas.

RNPC also expressed gratitude to Kohima DPDB for recommending the upgradation of Tseminyu subdivision to a separate full-fledged district during its monthly meeting.
