Mon district administration has been awarded Silver under “Category 6 – Use of ICT in the Management of COV1D- 19” scheme of National Awards for e-Governance 2020-21.
According to deputy commissioner Mon Thavaseelan K the award will be presented during the 24th National Conference on e- Governance at Hyderabad scheduled on January 7 and 8, 2022.
The project titled “Technology in Aid to Administration” was initiated to reduce the hardships and inconvenience caused to the public while enforcing COVID -19 appropriate measures to minimise exposure to Corona virus. The project had reducing hardship of people, increasing effectiveness of administration and keeping people safe from COVID as the objectives.
Some of the technologies used for the objectives were i) use of online e-pass portal for movement of people, ii) Geo fencing to monitor movement of those under quarantine, iii) contact tracing using Deep Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics, iv) Clappia App/web portal for management of quarantine centres and tracking of quarantined people and v) use of online web platform to address the grievances of people and connecting those requiring assistance with people who were willing to help.
The award has been instituted by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances under the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, and is presented every year for exemplary implementation of e-governance initiatives to recognise and promote excellence in implementation of e-governance initiatives.
