National Handloom expo inaugurated in Delhi

DIMAPUR: Chief resident commissioner and additional chief secretary, government of Nagaland, Jyoti Kalash on Tuesday inaugurated the National Handloom Expo, 2022 on the theme “my handloom, my pride”, in the presence of deputy resident commissioner, Nagaland House, Wennyei Konyak at Handloom Haat, Janpat New Delhi.
A press release from deputy director IPR, Nagaland House New Delhi, Kuolie Mere informed that the expo is sponsored by office of the development commissioner for handloom, ministry of Textiles.
Altogether, 17 states across the country would be taking part in the Expo where Nagaland had set up 25 stalls to showcase handloom products of the state.
Jyoti Kalash visited all 80 stalls and interacted with the participants.
He said that the best loom shawls were produced from North East states.
During the inaugural function, around 10 officials from the ministry were also present, manager Nagaland Emporium, Taka Temsu and staff and Nagaland House staff were also present.
