Yanthan inaugurates JJM project at Lakhuti

Advisor, horticulture and borders affairs, Mhathung Yanthan inaugurated the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) project on July 19 at Lakhuti Village, Wokha.
According to a DIPR report, speaking at the inaugural programme held at Lakhuti community hall, Mhathung said implementation of the project was a long-awaited dream of the village and lauded the people for the support in the course of implementing the project.
On behalf of the village community, he also acknowledged the department and all concerned involved in successful completion of the project.
The advisor urged village authorities to ensure proper maintenance and utilisation of machineries while also advising the village council and WATSAN committee members to work out modalities to generate revenue for maintenance of the machines and pumps.
PHED, Wokha E.E. Imnazulu Ao said the department would shortly hand over the project to the village authority and asked village authority to maintain and follow JJM guidelines and take responsibility in maintaining the machineries.
Later in the day, the advisor accompanied by officials from PMGSY E.E HQ in-charge Nagaland, departmental officials from Wokha and Kohima, technology provider-ELEMER enterprise, contractor M/S.North East Enterprise, and village elders inspected the ongoing construction of road under PMGSY from Sanis to Lakhuti to ensure quality work was maintained and to oversee the progress of work. The advisor also inspected the ongoing construction of playground at Lakhuti village carried out under Khelo India.
