Okotso BC holds worship service to celebrate centenary jubilee of LBCA

Okotso Baptist Church (OBC) organized a two-day prayer and worship service on June 20 – 21 and celebrated the centenary jubilee, to commemorate the “Hundredth” year of the founding of erstwhile LCA (Lotha Christians Association) presently known as Lotha Baptist Church Association (LBCA).
In a press release committee on local arrangement, (COLA) informed that besides being the first Lotha Baptist Church established in 1904, Okotso Baptist Church was also the founding venue where in June 21,1923, a 12-member representatives of Lotha Baptist Churches met at OBC, deliberated and officially organized/founded the LCA (Lotha Christians Association) with late Rajamo Kikon of Mekokla village as chairman and late Yichungo Ngullie of Okotso village as secretary.
On June 21, 2023, early morning fasting and prayer program was observed, attended by believers and members of the Okotso Baptist Church and villagers irrespective of denominations.
Rev JT Lotha and Rev OY Ngullie, pastor, OBC delivered the jubilee message on the theme: “Ete ekhum lanka jiang etsungi zetav ka….Nungra Kako (Lamentation) 3:40” and “Rotava, ete na Opvui thungi kholantavka” Hosea; 6:1. A few founding member Church delegates, representing the respective Churches also visited Okotso and participated in the OBC Jubilee celebration programme.
Earlier, on June 21, 2023 at the opening service, chairman, Committee on local arrangement (COLA), T.L. Merry welcomed the delegates and Lisathung Murry, secretary; COLA pronounced the vote of thanks.
