AIDA Dimapur organize plantation drive

As part of its campaign, Child Friendly Dimapur, AIDA organized a plantation drive under the theme, “One step towards creating a clean and safe environment for the children from June 24 – 25 in different localities and educational Institutions of Dimapur and Chumoukedima.
The team planted 450 ornamental saplings provided by Dimapur District Forest Range Office.
A press release by PRO AIDA Dimapur, informed that the main goal of the plantation drive was to create awareness on the rights of the children (Article 24: Children have the right to good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food and a clean environment so that they will stay healthy), create empathy and a sense of responsible citizenship towards creating a clean and safe environment and work in collaboration towards creating a clean and safe environment for all.
School authorities, teachers, child rights club members, child rights facilitators, youth and adults from Sangtamtilla, Purana Bazaar, Kuda C, Tenyiphe I, K.Sachu, Kacharigaon, Kirha, Selouphe, Govt. Hr.sec School, Singrijan, Govt. High School, Burma Camp, Naga Colony, Evershine School, Govt. High School Thahekhu and Govt. High School, Darogapathar involved in the plantation drive.
Altogether, 242 participated in the drive.
AIDA also announced some of its forthcoming programmes for the campaign 2023: Pledge campaign, drawing competition, poster campaign, workshop on “Beat Plastic Pollution”, Best out of waste training, cleanliness drive, flash mob, Inter-College extempore speech competition, walkathon and art exhibition cum sales day.
