Bashang visits proposed site of Nagaland House, Medical Lodge

Minister of Housing and Mechanical Engineering, P. Bashang Chang visited the proposed site identified for construction of New Nagaland House at Azara near GIMT Guwahati on September 4. The site is located 1 km away from New Airport, Guwahati.


He apprised that the proposed project will be initiated at the earliest possible time. The minister also visited the proposed Medical Lodge, Government of Nagaland at Mawdiangdiang, near NEIGRIHMS, New-Shillong.
He met the doctors and nurses of NEIGRIHMS hailing from Nagaland State at Guest House NEIGRIHMS and held an interaction hour on the challenges and grievances faced by the Nagaland patients at NEIGRIHMS. The minister acknowledged the health staffs of NEIGRIHMS for their tireless efforts and consistent services rendered to the patients during Covid pandemic.


He said the proposed project for Medical Lodge was one of the priority project as it was the immediate requirement of the patients. The minister also extended financial aid to the patients in the NEIGRIHMS.
Prof. cum principal, College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS, Nochovono Tase, welcomed the minister and his colleagues and extended gratitude to the Government of Nagaland for showing keen interest on the construction of Medical lodge.


She said students from Nagaland should visit the NEIGRIHMS as part of exposure trip or excursion.
Executive engineer Estate Division, Er. Ketousielie Kengurusie highlighted the blueprint of Medical Lodge at Mawdiangdiang, near NEIGRIHMS, New-Shillong. He mentioned that the proposed project will be of four storeyed building inclusive of basement, 30 rooms for patients with kitchen attached and washroom and 45 bedded dormitory. The minister and his team also inspected the proposed site targeted for construction of Medical Lodge.
