KUD adopts 3-point resolution

Kudawhi Union Dimapur (KUD) held its general meeting on February 3, at Tenyiphe I Village Council Hall, Chumoukedima where the house adopted three-point resolution. As per the resolution, the existing KUD team will continue their tenure till the silver jubilee celebration; KUD finance committee will also continue with the same and the proposed land and building project will be spearheaded by KUD under the jurisdiction and of Kohima Village Council.


Earlier, the meeting was graced by chairman, Kohima Village Council (KVC) Helievio Solo as the special guest.
A press release by publicity secretary KUD informed that at the programme, Solo spoke on the importance of preserving the cultural language.


He also highlighted the contribution of the early leaders in leading and pioneering various fields while sharing the history of the community.
The meeting was also addressed by four Kohima Village Khel Council chairmen, women and youth presidents of Kohima Village, where they spoke on the substantial value of love and affection that should begin from home, clan, khel, village and then to wider community.
The importance of preserving the cultural dress and attires was also emphasized and noted that it should be conserved and used meticulously.


KUD president, K.James Vizo in his presidential address reaffirmed the purpose of the union, which was for the welfare of the Kudawhi people in particular and the Naga people in general.
He also elaborated on the organizational structure of the KUD and its history since its inception in 1999 and appealed all the members to extend their cooperation and play a proactive role in the activities of the union.


The meeting chaired by joint secretary Nouneselhou Kire began with an invocation by pastor, Thinuozekuolie Phewhuo.
Welcome address was delivered by vice president Atho Dzuvichi and various reports were presented by general secretary David Sekhosem and audit report by Khrieketoulie Suohu. Special song by Thejanuo Kire and the vote of thanks by Sede Whuorie were other highlights of the programme.
