ARK Foundation, in collaboration with the department of Health and Family Welfare/NHM, Government of Nagaland, and D.Block Panchayat, Kohima, organized a Sensitization Program on Tuberculosis (TB) and its comorbidities at D.Block Panchayat Hall, Kohima on Saturday.
The programme aimed to raise awareness about TB, HIV, and substance abuse, highlighting the need for collective action against these diseases. Program coordinator of ARK Foundation, Shanchobeni, emphasized the importance of collaboration and the severity of these diseases, including the “TB elimination 2025” strategic plan under the National TB elimination program.
State TB officer, NTEP/NHM, Dr. Vezokholü Theyo, provided insights into TB signs, symptoms, treatment, and available facilities. DPO, DAPCU, Sentimongla, facilitated a session on HIV and AIDS and STIs, emphasizing prevention methods and early treatment.
President of ARK Foundation, Ketho Angami, addressed substance abuse, highlighting its detrimental effects and urging for healthier choices. He warned against gateway drugs like dendrite, ganja, and tobacco, emphasizing their role in escalating substance abuse issues.
The program, chaired by Shanchobeni featured contributions from various speakers, which equipped participants with knowledge to combat health challenges effectively.
