Lotha Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on Saturday announced their decision to extend the period of suspension of bandh of NH-02 as 14 workers of the M/S TTC Infra India have arrived at the worksite. With the expectation that the contractor would resume the abandoned works of the NH 2 from 72.4 km to 83.00 km soon, the CSOs said they have “conditionally resolved” to extend the period of suspension of bandh subject to re-imposition.
With the support of entire Lotha community, CSOs stated the majority of the compensated/paid structures along the stretch of NH-02 have been demolished. Therefore, CSOs said the contractor and the National Highway authorities were expected to resume the work.
CSOs also sought to clarify that the Lotha organisations would extend cooperation and safeguard the workers of the contractor.
In this regard, CSOs have cautioned that action would be taken against anyone harassing the workers in anyway.
Lotha organisations have urged all responsible to extend their support to the CSOs, government authorities and the contractor for implementing the road project work as per specifications.
CSOs have asked the National Highway supervisory officials to be at work site round the clock, unlike in the past, which necessitated the CSOs to involve themselves.
