National Integration Tour (NIT), organized under operation Sadbhavna for 14 boys and 12 girls hailing from Tengnoupal district, Manipur was flagged in by chief of staff, Spear Corps, Maj Gen Vijay Jotwani at Rangapahar military station, Dimapur on Friday.
During the 14 day tour, which commenced from February 10, the participants visited places of national importance and cultural heritage such as India gate, national war memorial, Chandni Chowk, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar national modern art gallery and Rashtrapati Bhawan.
They also visited the National Security Guards in Delhi and interacted with SM, Commandant, IMA Lt Gen Sandeep Jain, who inspired them to join the Indian army.
The participants also interacted with Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen Gurmit Singh, who advised them to “Dream big in life” and to work towards achieving the same.
Maj Gen Vijay Jotwani in a short speech while expressing happiness to see dynamic faces and interact with them, said he was privilege to flag – in the tour.
He mentioned that the tour were not only about seeing new places but also meeting new friends from three different school and encouraged them to keep the memories and friendship alive.
Jotwani, also reminded them that they were the future of the nation and told them to contribute whatever they can to the country. He also encouraged them to carry their culture identity along their academic journey and to maintain clean environment around their surroundings.
